- You must be at least 18 years of age to enter the equipment area. Girls aged 13-18 years may use the facility with a paid parent or guardian at a reduced rate after appropriate waivers and contracts have been explained and signed. Additional teen membership options available; please contact Balance for more information.
- Proper workout attire is required, including appropriate athletic shoes. (Jeans, sandals and boots prohibited.)
- Foul language and horseplay are prohibited.
- All loose equipment must be returned to its proper place after each use.
- Fitness center members must clean the equipment after EACH use. Fitness equipment wipes and/or cleaners are available near the restrooms.
- If a member discovers a piece of equipment has become unsafe, that member is asked to place a temporary notice on the equipment to warn potential users and avoid further damage. Temporary notices can be located at the information desk.
- Members are responsible for the proper and safe use of the equipment. Improper use, damage or vandalizing of the equipment may result in loss of the privilege to use the equipment and further charges to the offending member.
- Members shall not attempt to use any of the equipment unless they are familiar with proper use of the equipment and have signed and understand the facility and equipment procedures waiver. Equipment instruction will be available during staffed hours or by appointment.
- The equipment in the Fitness Center is shared equipment; therefore, users should limit their use of the aerobic equipment to thirty minutes and other machines to limited numbers of repetitions, sets or time when others are waiting to use the equipment. Saving or holding equipment for later use is not allowed.
- When exercising alone in the facility, members are required to wear the Guardian 911 alert system located near the side door. In the case of an emergency, one touch of the pendent will alert our local 911 dispatcher and help will immediately be dispatched to the facility. Before exiting the building, BE SURE to replace the pendent to its proper location to ensure it is available for the next member. Any member leaving the facility with the pendent and not immediately returning it will be charged a non-refundable $150 charge and lose their membership privileges.
- Under NO circumstances are members allowed to loan their 24-hour access key to another person or allow non-members to enter the facility. Any member found to have committed these acts will immediately be terminated from the facility and criminal charges may be pursued.
- Balance is not responsible for any member’s personal property, including automobiles. Please secure all items.
- Members are not allowed to enter the office area at any time.
- This facility is monitored by several security cameras. In the event of any suspicious situation, video footage will be reviewed immediately by staff and appropriate action will be taken.
- Members may change the radio station at their discretion. Please be considerate of others in the facility before choosing a station.
- By signing this form and becoming a member of Balance, you acknowledge and UNDERSTAND that you will have unlimited access to the facility, often with no supervision by Balance staff. If you become injured, there will likely be nobody available in the facility to assist you. For this reason, we encourage members to find an exercise partner to utilize the facility with during un-staffed hours and it is REQUIRED that the Guardian 911 alert system be worn if you choose to exercise in the facility alone.
- Balance Women’s Fitness Center is a “common-sense” facility. Please treat the facility and its contents as if they were your own. Please be considerate of other members. Please provide any suggestions and/or share any concerns you might have so that we may work to continuously meet your needs. Please commit to yourself to stay healthy and happy in all aspects of your life!
